The Maasai Tribe
The Maasai tribe, native to Kenya and Tanzania, are semi-nomadic pastoralists known for their deep-rooted traditions, striking red shukas (cloaks), and strong warrior culture. In the Maasai Mara, they coexist with wildlife, herding cattle, which are central to their economy and social status. Despite modernization, they preserve their rich heritage through storytelling, dance, and rituals. The Maasai are also active in conservation efforts, balancing traditional lifestyles with sustainable tourism and environmental protection in one of Africa’s most iconic landscapes.
